Lenexa’s annual Spinach Festival was first started by LHS and taken up by the City of Lenexa. Each year we celebrate a time when Lenexa was the spinach capital of the world, featuring lots of crafts and food for sale, as well we free activities for kids.
LHS has a booth of its own each year that sells spinach related foods. In the past we have sold Popeye the Sailor Man inspired foods like the Wimpy Burger, as well as Spinach Balls, Spinach Dip, Spinach Pizza, and even Spinach Smoothies! Of course, we cannot forget our World’s Largest Spinach Salad!
Proceeds go back to the operations of the Lenexa Historical Society, so come by and grab a bite.
